4-CLASS SESSION: Wednesday, May 8 to May 29

Building on the success of its cheer and gymnastics programs, Bristol Rec is happy to announce a new tumbling program! Classes will be taught by Lindsey Hescock, who has been teaching gymnastics at the Bristol Elementary School for over a decade. She and her assistants are excited to work with students in the New Haven Town Gym. We will be offering 2 levels of classes for our first session.

Beginner Tumbling
Students will focus on floor exercises to build the foundational skills they need to learn and master rolls, cartwheels, handstands, backbends, jumps, and more. Students will improve balance, body awareness, coordination, flexibility, and confidence in a positive learning environment.

Intermediate & Advanced Tumbling
This class requires that students can independently do rolls, cartwheels, handstands, and backbends.
This class will offer motivated students an opportunity to take their skills to the next level. We will be working on many variations of cartwheels and backbends, as well as walkovers and handsprings. Students will also benefit from exercises focused on conditioning and flexibility. Additional skills will be introduced when individuals are ready.

HELPFUL TIPS for STUDENTS:
· Wear an outfit without buttons, grommets, or excess fabric (i.e. jeans, tutus, loose shirts, etc.). Leggings/bike shorts and a top that is fitted/can be tucked in OR a leotard is recommended.
· Secure hair away from the face and shoulders before class.
· Students will be barefoot and should come to class with clean feet.
· Bring a full water bottle.
