Skatepark circa 2018
Update 5.4.26
This past weekend we sealed up many of the cracks in the surface of the park in preparation for the rebuild next weekend. Every crack was addressed by hand and cleaned well, we power washed and blew all the settled debris out. Our awesome community volunteers filled them in with Aquaphalt asphalt patch and we tamped them down in hopes of a smoother ride this summer. The last of the punky wood was removed from the transfer station and now we are looking good for this coming weekend's build!
Update 4.29.26
Deconstruction has started! The well loved Bristol Skatepark has begun its transformation into its next form. With many community hands we made short work of removing the surfaces and taking the ramps down to their bones. There was quite a bit of rotten cross members and some plys that couldn't hold weight anymore. So we cleared them out and made space for the next iteration. Each weekend from now until June 7th will be filled with park related projects. If you or someone you know would like to contribute hands, tools, skills and know-how, please email: hubdirector@bristolvt.org or show up at 9am Saturday or Sunday. There will always be something to work on!
Update 3.17.2026
Greetings friends of the HUB Skatepark!
May I introduce myself to you all - my name is Dylan Verner, I’m the new Director of The Hub and I’m excited to begin the much-needed repair/build of our standing skatepark. As many of you already know (and for those who don’t), we are currently at a reset with our fundraising efforts for the cement park that Nor’easter designed with all your input and hours of planning. Our seed money for grant matches needs to grow!
-The first big step is to rehabilitate our aging wooden park, so we have a safe, fun, and updated set of features to ride. We are going to need volunteers for a speedy reconstruction and a plan laid out so we can collectively move through the repairs. We will need to meet and go over the structures, what they individually need and the moves to get them into flow.
Below is the plan. Look over it and see where you can lend a hand! If you know of anyone that should see this email or anyone with construction experience, please pass it along and have them contact me at
hubdirector@bristolvt.org
I’m looking to get us together next week - Thursday April 2nd 6:30 pm
If there is any issues and you’d like to virtually attend I can set up a link on zoom.
UPDATE 1.22.26
Winter is here and so is the next phase of Bristol's Hub Skatepark. An action committee is being formed to reconstruct and resurface the current ramps (plus a few extra features for flow). Our goal is to make sure we have a quality park to ride for the next 5 years until we have raised enough in donations and grants to break ground on our community created concrete plans. Thank you for sticking with us and keeping up the momentum to roll into a new year of skating, biking, blading and scootering. Keep an eye out for future opportunities to lend a hand as we prep for snow-out go-time! We are seeking donations for the current build, both in material and financial giving. If you would like to assist feel free to contact us.

UPDATE 11.19.2025
After considerable review—including an assessment of project readiness, financial capacity, and the number of major infrastructure needs facing us in the next three years—the Town of Bristol has made the difficult decision to suspend several projects. This includes the planned demolition and construction of a new concrete skatepark at the Bristol Recreation Fields.
This was not an easy choice. After auditing our finances and evaluating our long-term obligations, it became clear that we must temporarily pause certain capital projects to remain fiscally responsible.
We recognize the passion, dedication, and community support that have propelled the skatepark effort forward, as well as the deep significance this space holds for many Bristol residents. The Town remains committed to supporting the skatepark and improving the existing facility to ensure it is safer, more functional, and more enjoyable while we determine long-term strategies to strengthen this important community asset.
We will continue to communicate openly and involve the community as we consider the next steps for the skatepark. We are honored by the trust the community places in us as we navigate an ever-changing landscape—balancing the budgets of our households with the shifting financial responsibilities of local government.
We love Bristol and the passionate people who make this town such a vibrant, connected community. Please reach out to the Town Administrator or Selectboard with any questions.
