The Bristol Angler's Camp is a week-long adventure into all aspects of Fly-Fishing and Spin-Fishing. We will be exploring the finer details of being an angler and how to catch specific species, casting lessons with both fly rods and spinning rods, forage identification (entomology and life cycles of bugs, bait-fish, and locating them in local habitats), fish life cycles and identification, and rigging/knot tying.
We will be working both inside and outside during the week with some of the activities being, fly-tying, material selection, bait making/lure making, fish art, swimming, river walks, lake side fishing (no boats, only feet). We will be taking trips to local fisheries to best identify and catch native and stocked species. Learning to apply the techniques necessary for best seasonal approaches as well as learning best practices for catch and release will be a big part of our journey through the week.
During the week we will also have visits from Vermont Fish and Wildlife and VT anglers.
