After a busy day at school, come to the relaxed atmosphere of the clay studio. Students will focus on both hand-building and wheel-building, which will develop the diverse skills of a potter while bringing their ideas into form. All work will be glazed and fired to take home.16+ can also sign up for the evening classes.No classes during the school break in February or April. There is Vacation Clay Camp offered during these times. Instructor: Andie AsackerAndie AsackerAndie is a lifelong artist and creative. She has studied many art forms and traditional handcrafts including drawing, painting, sewing, basketry, and crochet. Most recently—upon moving to Bristol in 2020—Andie began studying pottery under the tutelage of Matlak Mayforth. She has past experience in children’s recreational programming and is looking forward to returning to the role of creative facilitator and guide. Andie believes that practicing creativity builds confidence and offers an important outlet for self-expression.

No experience necessary! Learn or refine several techniques of handbuilding to create functional or non-functional pottery in a fun, relaxed and supportive class! This class meets once a week for 6 weeks on Wednesdays.Adult students receive 12 lbs of clay for studio use. Additional clay is available in 6 lb increments for $40.00. Production pottery is not permitted during class; the instructor will determine what qualifies as production.
