REGISTRATION OPENS FEBRUARY 1st, 2025 at 6:00 am.River Sports Camp offers a week of hiking, swimming, exploration, games & more! The Bristol Rec has a van that we take to different places around this area. One of our favorite places to go is Sycamore Park.Campers should be willing to do it all. A great deal of time is spent outside and near water. The ability to swim is strongly suggested. A letter will be sent home a week before camp with information about the week’s activities and what to bring. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO PARENTSFor your child’s safety and to meet legal requirements, all campers who are required by age or height to use a car seat must have one provided and ready for use by a parent. The car seat must be: Non-expired Fully functional Properly sized for your child Campers will be transported in our Recreation Van during field trips. If your child does not have the required car seat ready on the day of the trip, they will not be allowed to attend. It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure the car seat is brought, labeled, and ready for staff to install. We understand this may be an extra step, but it is essential to keeping every camper safe and legally protected. Thank you for your attention and cooperation.Please bring extra snacks, your child will be burning a lot of energy and will need it to complete a fun and exciting day!*The July camp is Pay What You Can with a minimum of $25.00USE THE DONATE BUTTON TO REGISTER: We are back offering a pay system called "Pay What You Can." You can pay a minimum of $25.00 or whatever you can afford. The Bristol Recreation will cover the rest of the cost through our scholarship account. Feeling generous for our community? Outings and guest speakers are sponsored by the Bristol Rec Department in an effort to keep any costs to the members as low as possible!We offer a wide variety of presentations and outings ranging from ancestry to walking tours. Get on the waitlist!Bristol Recreation Department is excited to offer a mountain bike skills camp by Professional Mountain Bike Instructors (PMBIA), Meridith McFarland. The camps will be based out of the Hub Teen Center and will have access to the trails, skate park, pump track, and skills field.  Riders will learn bike handling skills, basic bike maintenance, and trail etiquette. Riders will learn to jump off of features and natural terrain. Jumping will be introduced at the ability of the rider.Riders should be comfortable on their bikes. Little Ripper's ages 4-6 from 9:00a-12:00 pm. Bring your strider (balance bike), and/or a pedal bike to this camp. Learn how to balance, stride, and, for some, how to pedal. We have balance bikes available through a generous donation from the Masonic Lodge. Does your little ripper rip on a pedal bike already? Yes, awesome. 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM    5Town Riders 2025 - 5TR Club REGISTRATION 2025
In partnership with the Bristol Recreation Department, 5 Town Riders is a central community cycling club that aims to support youth riders (5th-12th Grade) as they develop individual bike skills in a team-focused environment. We offer skills training and trail rides in a group setting from June - October. We also offer (but not require) participation in the VTYC Race series.The club also dedicates time for Trail & Service work in our local community to give back to the landowners whose property we ride on and to teach the team about caring for the land and general trail/earth stewardship. 5Town Rider Club:We welcome grades 5-12 to ride with us this summer/fall, you do not have to race to be part of the 5Town Riders. If you are interested in racing, then please register in addition to VTYC. A good working mountain bike with front/full suspension and hand brakes is a must, and your own transportation to training and races is a plus. The 5TR and BRD offer a free bike library for riders in need of a bike to use. If a child or infant’s heart stops, you should provide immediate CPR - compressions with breaths - until help arrives.Infants usually have healthy hearts. Often, an infant’s heart stops because the infant can’t breathe or is a having trouble breathing.By learning the skills of CPR and choking relief you can be better prepared to save a life.PAST Classes:American Heart Association - First Aid:June 4th 5:00pmHowden HallIn this course, students will learn critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services arrives. Students learn duties and responsibilities of first aid rescuers as well as first aid actions for medical emergencies. In partnership with the Bristol Recreation Department, 5 Town Riders is a central community cycling club that aims to support youth riders (5th-12th Grade) as they develop individual bike skills in a team-focused environment. We offer skills training and trail rides in a group setting from June - October. We also offer (but not require) participation in the VTYC Race series.The club also dedicates time for Trail & Service work in our local community to give back to the landowners whose property we ride on and to teach the team about caring for the land and general trail/earth stewardship. 5Town Rider Club:We welcome grades 5-12 to ride with us this summer/fall, you do not have to race to be part of the 5Town Riders. If you are interested in racing, then please register in addition to VTYC. A good working mountain bike with front/full suspension and hand brakes is a must, and your own transportation to training and races is a plus. The 5TR and BRD offer a free bike library for riders in need of a bike to use. Students will focus on both hand-building and wheel-building, which will develop the diverse skills of a potter while bringing their ideas into form. All work will be glazed and fired to take home.No classes during the school break in February or April. There is Vacation Clay Camp offered during these times.

Production pottery is not permitted during class; the instructor will determine what qualifies as production.
